1 - Renoncer aux sacs plastiques à usage unique ;
2- Choisir des emballages écologiques ;
3 - Avoir sur soi un sac de courses réutilisable ;
toilettes ;

4. On Tuesday, January 23rd, 2018 the afternoon on the quay(platform) of the Memorial ACT.
The weather is beautiful, it is warm, the sun beats down and it's for the best: the photo-
voltaic panels of the boat RaceForWater can completely load batteries. It is because the
day of the departure of Guadeloupe approach: on Sunday, cape on the Panama Canal,
then South America, Peru, Chile, the Easter Island.
15 hours, our pupils board the impressive ship 33 meters long. We are welcomed by two
communications managers. At first the history of the boat: initially designed to be the first
solar boat to go round the world in 2010, it was then transformed into 2011 to welcome a
scientific foundation for the study of the waste of plastics trapped in the middle of the
oceans by gyres, these enormous currents tourbillonnants (http://www.raceforwater.-
com/race_for_water_odyssey/gyres-iles-temoins).
Learn, share and act, are three drops of water which symbolize the message : "we follow
the evolution of these continents of plastics in the middle of the oceans, we question to
public authorities, to institutions and especially one inform the young people about this
problem of the plastic waste by which the production follows an exponential growth and
a treatment still in its infancy. When you know that 90 % of the plastic produced since the
1950s was not recycled or destroyed, the problem is immense. Solutions exist, it is a ques-
tion of will ».
The pupils visit then the boat. 100 tons, 500 m2 of the deployable solar panels, a sail of
Kite surf which can assure 2 % of the drive when the wind is favorable. This boat has
some future for the evolution of sea transports.
Before leaving, we give us another 5 advice(councils):
1 - Give up the single-use plastic bags;
2- Choose ecological packagings;
3 - Have on one a reusable bag of shopping;
4 - Do not throw plastics nor cigarette ends of cigarettes in the street or in them toilet;
5 - Use a gourd of water as often as possible.
Of what to echo the project EcoBaimbridge which will be launched in the next days in our
school…
