Through a collaborative agreement with the Ottawa
Public Library (OPL) and the City of Ottawa, Library and
Archives Canada (LAC) will acquire space in a new joint
facility housing the OPL’s Central Library and LAC’s
public face in the National Capital Region.

Grâce à un accord avec la Bibliothèque publique d’Ottawa
(BPO) et la ville d’Ottawa, Bibliothèque et Archives Canada

regards to the Ottawa Public Library’s new Central Library Project.

Le Conseil de la BPO et le Conseil municipal de la Ville d’Ottawa ont donné
leurs approbations suite à la recommandation de poursuivre avec un projet
d’installation partagée BPO-BAC.

L’annonce du Budget fédéral 2018 stipule que le gouvernement a
l’intention d’injecter 73,3 millions $ pour la portion de BAC à la nouvelle
installation BAC-BPO.

2018
Le Conseil municipal d'Ottawa approuve le financement pour entreprendre
la part du projet qui revient à la Ville et à la BPO.

2018
Approbation et autorisation de dépenser du gouvernement du Canada pour
entreprendre la phase de définition du projet.

La Ville d'Ottawa attribue un contrat de conception à Diamond Schmitt

The joint venture team has a
proven track record in
architectural design excellence
and specialized experience with
libraries and other cultural
institutions.
The design development work for
this major iconic building began in
January 2019.
The Design Team is closely
engaging with the public with a
series of consultations during the
design phases.
