If you bring Charles Bronson to any city in the USA, the pile of dead people will double up if not triple in three days, and the fact the dead are bad boys, bad guys, gangsters, and other serious criminals, does not change the fact it is not normal, and the fear of the vigilante lasts as long as it takes you to go to the water closet to relieve your gutsy need. And you’ll find out they forgot to provide the toilet paper. Life is just as bad as that, and death is not better since anyway how can we know there is anything beyond it? And if there is, you can be sure all those bad bros have managed to take some billion dollars along to buy the blindness of that poor Saint Peter who will not reject the baksheesh. So, enjoy the dying criminals in the streets of LA or NYC. That’s going to be the only place where you can enjoy them. And if you are a good boy, you can be sure you will stampede movelessly at the very end of the queue up there because you do not have the gold it needs to bring your honest and sinless camel through the eye of the needle.

2. CHARLES BRONSON – DEATH
WISH 1 – 5 – 1974-1994
Cinematographic archaeology. It was a time when violence, gangsterism, urban
gangs, and ethnic gangs of any sort were some kind of sport and entertainment for young
people though it was most of the time manipulated by some adults or older adults for their
own interest. Originally, in the first two films, it was nothing but bullying that turned into
rioting when the gangs became bigger than the audience of a local football game. Drugs
were hinted at, but it was not essential.
But with the third film in 1985, drugs became the essential argument, both the traffic of
it and the gangs going along with this traffic, and the victims of the drugs, dead people by
overdose on one side and by conquest or defense of a territory against rival gangs or at
times the police, though this institution preferred keeping the traffic under control rather
than eradicate it. And how could they eradicate it since at the same time, in the same
period, the famous contra operation to support both anti-revolutionary movements in
Central America and the opposition to the Islamic revolution in Iran? Some military and
CIA personnel, kept underground as much as possible organized the drug circulation in
order to recuperate some money needed to finance the fight against anti-us movements all
over the world.
The main boss of this action - under Reagan mind you who had learned this type of
political action in Hollywood – the boss I was saying must have been a certain Oliver
North, a US Marine Corps lieutenant Colonel. You cannot have the money for the butter
and the butter along with it. If you want the money you have to let drugs run wild and they
did. We know the result.
So, I must say the last three films are slightly repetitive and circular in theme and
treatment. It uses the schematic approach that if a vigilante citizen takes justice in his (a
male of course) own hands, being as they say the judge, the jury, and the executioner, in
fact, they forget about the preliminary investigation to determine who has to be brought to

3. the judge, hence first of all that vigilante has to be the cop or copper or policeperson to find
out who is the culprit. And then it is routine, knowing that the police will forget to see what
is happening – as long as the vigilante is white – because that kind of vigilante action
brings some lowering of the crime rate. That’s a cliché and it is not true. It does not take
into account the new form of mass shootings and crime after 2000 when for reasons that
have not been explored yet in any satisfactory way one isolated person picks his guns and
starts shooting in a mall, a street, a bus station, a school, a university, a church, a
synagogue, or a mosque, attacking people defined ethnically: Jews, Blacks, Asians, gays,
Muslims, etc. And for the killers, these groups are not part of the human race, they are
from another race altogether. Charles Bronson did not come even close to this new form of
gun violence.
But the five films are entertaining though there is not much to get out of it, except the
distraction from real life that they bring.
Enjoy the detour that will keep you away from the real problems of real crimes, political
crime, military crime, financial crime, and many others that have nothing to do with gangs
and drugs and whatever Bronson envisages in these films.

les gangs urbains et les gangs ethniques de toutes sortes constituaient une sorte de sport
et de divertissement pour les jeunes, bien qu'ils fussent la plupart du temps manipulés par
certains adultes ou personnes plus adultes pour leur propre intérêt. À l’origine, dans les
deux premiers films, il n’y avait que du harcèlement qui se transformait en émeutes
lorsque les gangs devenaient plus nombreux que le public d’un match de football local. La
drogue a été évoquée, mais ce n'était pas la cause principale.
Mais avec le troisième film en 1985, la drogue devient l'argument essentielle, à la fois
son trafic et les gangs qui accompagnent ce trafic, et les victimes de la drogue, mortes par
overdose d'un côté et par conquête ou défense d'un territoire. contre des bandes rivales
ou parfois contre la police, même si cette institution préférait contrôler le trafic plutôt que
l'éradiquer. Et comment pourraient-ils l’éradiquer puisqu’au même moment, dans la même
période, la fameuse opération des CONTRAS visant à soutenir à la fois les mouvements
antirévolutionnaires en Amérique centrale et l’opposition à la révolution islamique en Iran ?
Certains militaires et membres de la CIA, maintenus dans la clandestinité autant que
possible, ont organisé la circulation de la drogue afin de récupérer un peu d'argent
nécessaire au financement de la lutte contre les mouvements anti-américains dans le
monde entier.
Le principal patron de cette action – sous Reagan, s’il vous plait, qui avait appris ce
type d'action politique à Hollywood – le patron dont je parlais devait être un certain Oliver
North, lieutenant-colonel du Corps des Marines des États-Unis. Vous ne pouvez pas avoir
l’argent pour le beurre et le beurre avec lui. Si vous voulez de l’argent, vous devez laisser
la drogue se déchaîner et ils l’ont fait. Nous connaissons le résultat.
Donc, je dois dire que les trois derniers films sont légèrement répétitifs et circulaires
dans leur thème et leur traitement. Ils utilisent l'approche schématique selon laquelle si un
citoyen justicier prend la justice en mains (un homme bien sûr), et étant comme la

préliminaire pour déterminer qui doit être présenté au juge, donc tout d'abord ce justicier
doit être le flic ou le flicard, le cogne ou le policier pour découvrir qui est le coupable. Et
puis c’est une routine, sachant que la police oubliera de voir ce qui se passe – tant que le
justicier est blanc – parce que ce genre d’action de justicier entraîne une certaine baisse
du taux de criminalité. C’est un cliché et ce n’est pas vrai. Il ne prend pas en compte la
nouvelle forme de fusillades de masse et de criminalité après 2000 lorsque, pour des
raisons qui n'ont pas encore été explorées de manière satisfaisante, une personne isolée
prend ses armes et commence à tirer dans un centre commercial, une rue, une gare
routière, une école, une université, une église, une synagogue ou une mosquée,
s'attaquant à des personnes définies ethniquement : juifs, noirs, asiatiques, gays,
musulmans, etc. Et pour les tueurs, ces groupes ne font pas partie de la race humaine, ils
sont issus d’une toute autre race. Charles Bronson ne s’est même pas rapproché de cette
nouvelle forme de violence armée.
Mais les cinq films sont divertissants même s’il n’y a pas grand-chose à en tirer, à part
la détournement de la vie réelle qu’ils apportent pour les spectateurs.
Profitez du détour qui vous éloignera des vrais problèmes de crimes réels, de crimes
politiques, de crimes militaires, de crimes financiers et bien d'autres qui n'ont rien à voir
avec les gangs, la drogue et tout ce que Bronson envisage dans ces films.
