TEST DE GENERATION DE THROMBINE ET THROMBOELASTOMETRIE SUR SANG TOTAL : TESTS GLOBAUX DE LA MISE EN EVIDENCE DE LA VARIABILITE INTER-INDIVIDUELLE DE LA REPONSE AU TRAITEMENT PAR HBPM
This study examined the prevalence of hemoglobin variants in 875 Greek patients. Testing found that 13.14% of patients had at least one abnormal hemoglobin level. Specifically, 11.2% had beta-thalassemia trait with elevated HbA2 levels, 0.91% had sickle cell trait, and 0.22% had hereditary persistence of fetal hemoglobin. These results are consistent with previous reports on the prevalence of beta-thalassemia trait and sickle cell trait in Greece. Hemoglobinopathies represent a major public health issue given their frequency and severity, and international collaboration will be needed to effectively address this problem.
Chitosan nanoparticles were developed as a carrier for the anti-HIV drug zidovudine (AZT) to address its short plasma half-life and dose-dependent toxicities. Chitosan-tripolyphosphate nanoparticles loaded with AZT were prepared using ionic cross-linking. Characterization showed the nanoparticles were spherical and around 250nm in diameter. The release rate of AZT from the nanoparticles depended on factors like the chitosan molecular weight, initial AZT concentration, and amount of tripolyphosphate used.

Prevention Of Venous Thromboembolism : Recommendations & ReflectionsAli Jendoubi, MD
Venous thromboembolism (VTE) may contribute to up to 12% of deaths in ICU and is the No.1 preventable cause of hospital death.
VTE is a common complication of surgical procedures. The risk for VTE in surgical patients is determined by the combination of individual predisposing factors and the specific type of surgery.
This conference will consist of three parts:
1. The first part will offer a brief overview of epidemiology, mechanical and
pharmacological methods and new findings on pathophysiology of venous thrombogenesis.
2. The second part will dive into the recommendations for venous thromboembolism prophylaxis in surgical patients, hospitalized medical patients and critically ill patients.
We will discuss the guidelines (guidelines of the SFAR 2011, the 9th edition of the American College of Chest Physicians guidelines 2012 and the latest European Guidelines on perioperative venous thromboembolism prophylaxis 2017)
3. In the third part, we will debate 3 topics: Day surgery, fast-track surgery and the role of aspirin for the prevention of perioperative venous thromboembolism.
HEMORRAGIES DU POST PARTUM 2014 - UP TO DATEClaude GINDREY

This poster discusses new genotypes of Mycobacterium that have been introduced through migratory flows. It presents research on identifying novel strains of Mycobacterium that have entered a population due to human migration. The findings suggest migration has contributed previously unknown variants of Mycobacterium.
Rotavirus genotypes circulating in Tunisia from 2008-2009 were characterized. Rotavirus was detected in 23% of stool samples tested, with G3 emerging as the predominant genotype during this period, unlike previous studies where G1 was most common. Two P genotypes (P[8] and P[4]) were identified. The detection of multiple strains indicates gene reassortment occurs during natural infections. Ongoing surveillance is needed to monitor circulating Tunisian rotavirus strains.
