By blocking the emergence of humanity around 20,000 years ago, Carole Nervig has to call extraterrestrials to save the case. But it saves nothing. Human civilization was not born, did not emerge in a mythical sunken continent that may never have existed out of the mind of some evanescent terrestrials that no one has met or remember meeting. Human civilization started 300,000 years ago in Black Africa, and since that beginning, the road has been long and arduous. And the first and essential invention and development was language, articulated language based on the rotation of vowels and consonants. Carole Nervig is dealing with people who have the full command of language though she does not really mention that Uyghur people speak a Turkic agglutinative language and people in Southeast Asia speak isolating Tibeto-Burman languages. A word in Uyghur has no direct connection with a word in Vietnamese and they cannot be just compared and be declared connected because they sound alike. And what about the Denisovans? Maybe they were the Extraterrestrials Carole Nervig is always coming back to?
2. CAROLE NERVIG – THE PETROGLYPHS
OF MU, POHNPEI, NAN MADOL, AND THE
LEGACY OF LEMURIA – BEAR AND
COMPANY – 2022
Since I have been working on the transfer of culture and civilization from Southeast
Asia to South and Mesoamerica, I must regret research is not advanced as much as
necessary to come to some final theory or even theories. Julien d’Huy gives some
elements about mythemes that are common to Southeast Asia and Melanesia on the west
side of the Pacific Ocean and then South America on the east side of the same Pacific
Ocean but are not present in North America. In South and Mesoamerica, systematically,
culture has been moving north like cacao that is archaeologically proved oldest in Bolivian
Amazonia some 2,000 or even 3,000 years before it is asserted present in Maya country.
In the same way, the oldest pyramids are on the eastern flank of the Andes in Peru, in
Caral, and these 5,000-year-old pyramids are the oldest in the world, predating the
Egyptian pyramids by 100 years (which is only a time indication but no indication that the
Egyptian pyramids and the Peruvian pyramids are connected, except mentally in a shape
that seems to be universal) and the Inca or Maya pyramids by an easy 3,000 or 4,000
years. Egypt has little to do here, but the movement from Caral to Maya country just goes
that way and not the reverse. What’s more a great number of pyramids have been spotted
in Amazonia, under the canopy of the jungle, and are still totally unexplored, which means
at least they probably have not been looted. And archaeology has explored the
commercial connection of the people in Caral with the fishermen on the coast and the
population higher up in the Andes. Then going down to Amazonia is logical. The shift to
Maya country is more complicated since we don’t really know where the Mayas and their
predecessors the Olmecs come from, though due to their cultural “heritage” they have to
be coming from the south, from Amazonia, maybe even from farther south.
So, the hypothesis that around 25,000 years ago, the water in the Pacific Ocean
was so low that it was possible to cross from Melanesia to Chile, Campo Verde precisely,
becomes possible. So, being curious, I wanted to read about this sunken continent in the
Pacific Ocean, Mu or Lemuria. And I did. If such a continent existed in that period, it should
be possible to explore the Pacific Ocean for some geological evidence of such a continent.
But the fact that this particular book only dates the sinking of the said continent around
12,000 years ago, maybe 15,000, 9,000 or 6,000 years respectively, after the peak of the
Ice Age, the flood, the rising of the level of the ocean, the dramatic climate change brought
by this event would fit this “cataclysm” which really was a normal, cyclical phenomenon on
the earth. But to pretend that human civilization started there and then is purely short-
sighted. The history of Homo Sapiens started in Black Africa 300,000 years ago and
moved first to North Africa and the Sahara some 200,000 years ago, then to the whole of
Asia some 140,000 years ago, and then to Central Asia, the Caucasus, Anatolia, and
Europe around 70,000-50,000 years ago in two waves. And the fact the author starts only
15,000 years ago, at best, sounds rather easy to exclude Africa and the Blacks, as well as
the first migration out of Black Africa (out of three), the one that migrated to North Africa
and the Sahara and is the basis of all the Semitic or Afro-Asiatic root languages, first of all,
the two most famous ones, Hebrew and Arabic. And this migration will hardly get out of
Africa as a whole, a first movement before 80,000 years ago to the Middle East where
3. Neanderthals were arriving from Europe, but our Homo Sapiens did not stay very long,
and then around 30,000 years ago to stay this time.
The second element that is irritating is the fact that the filiation between something
and some other thing is only the result of the statement the two things look alike, and at
times there are 20,000 kilometers between the two things that are compared. But – and
that is essential – the timeline is never clearly stated to know which one came first and
then in what time order the particular design or petroglyph has been archaeologically
proved. So, we cannot state that they all come from the center, Mu or Lemuria, and spread
around. That’s not how things work. A precise timeline is the first requirement. The
second, and that one is capital, if you find the same pattern in Uyghur country and
Australia or Pohnpei, you have to order them in time and then wonder how they moved
from here to there. Cultural elements don’t move all by themselves but are carried by
people, migrating people for example. Then it is essential to know the type of languages
these various communities speak. It is easy to see that Uyghur is a Turkic language and
we know the migration of these languages from Black Africa around 70,000 years ago
moving to Central Asia, Siberia, meeting the Denisovans there, then to the Urals and
northern Russia as far as Finland and Saami land, and at the same time from the Middle
East where they met with the Neanderthals for the first time, to Anatolia and southern
Europe and through the Caucasus and northern Europe, and to the whole of Europe
altogether. But Southeast Asia and Melanesia speak mostly isolating languages of the
Sino-Tibetan or Tibeto-Burman family that developed in the whole of Asia after arriving
circa 120,000 years ago, meeting with the Denisovans, probably integrating some
important minority of Denisovans in Southeast Asia and Melanesia since the share of
Denisovan DNA is three times more important there than in the rest of Asia. If we speak of
culture, then the same pattern, the same design, and the same type of buildings may not
at all have the same value, the same use, or the same meaning because the meaning
4. depends on the culture, and the languages the people speak are part of their cultures. The
author never, absolutely never, mentions the languages of the people she is speaking of.
I am still interested in the continental extension of islands in the South Pacific and
would like to know more but on strict scientific considerations. If such connections between
Uyghur country and Maya country can be stated, we have to know the timeline of the shift,
the identity of the community that transported it, and the route they followed to bring it from
one place to the other place, and it might also be interesting to know the motivations of the
migration knowing that people from one culture move to a country populated by people
from another culture. Any unified vision is totally unrealistic because we know these
communities spoke languages from very different families. And by the way, what was
Denisovan language or communicational orality? They are not even mentioned. Easy,
since the Denisovans were extinct probably around 30-35,000 years ago, long before the
period exclusively considered in this book.
The last element that some archaeologists dealing with the geometric forms and
designs present in the caves among and around the representational paintings, put
forward these designs are universal in Europe and Indonesia, all going back to 45-30,000
BCE, are in fact projections of pattern connected with the architecture of the brain, proving
by the way the brain of Homo Sapiens is the same in all communities. These signs or
patterns, designs, or forms are entoptic, the projection of the eye, retina, or even deeper
brain forms into some visual phenomena. It is also important to see some of these signs
might be the result of gestures by the hand in the air, or with a tool of some sort on a
surface. We will all produce crosses, circles, squares, and many other forms like a sine
wave or some hashtag crisscrossing patterns.
To prove the existence of a hypothetical central continent in the southern Pacific
Ocean, the author is led to neglect too many elements that are absolutely authentic and go
5. back to an enormous time depth. The linguistic dimension is also absent or reduced to
anecdotic mentions of this or that word, and once again, two words that look alike can be
very different and unconnected if they are from two different languages. The Dogons in
Africa consider Sirius as a central star, and this star is a dog star, Alpha Canis Majoris,
and since the word “dog” in English has absolutely no Indo-European etymology that we
know, it is easy to say it comes from the Dogons who share their cult for Sirius with the
Egyptians. Of course, the similarity between two words does not prove they are
connected.
But it is interesting to know some people are dedicating their lives to such research,
even if the scientific dimension of it is rather limited at times. But they are essential
because they work in fields and terrains that the official and campus-institutionalized
academic people neglect. After all, it does not bring anything to their own careers.

L'Egypte n'a
