DMEXCO 2015
Introduction
Trends analysis from Cannes Lions 2015 by the HUB Institute

Connecting the Global Digiconomy
“DMEXCO 2015 CONNECTS PEOPLE, BRANDS, AND MEDIA.
Because the key players of the digital value chain come together here, we
also see dmexco as a key bridge for usefully connecting the ever
broadening economic sectors.
This fact is not only reflected in this year’s slogan of “Bridging Worlds”.
On the first day of dmexco, the participants have taken full advantage of
the many opportunities to network at dmexco, learn from one another,
understand, and successfully exploit the various opportunities and
potentials of the DIGICONOMY.
And all of this is take place at absolutely the top level! Nowhere else in the
global digital economy will you find an event of this size, this quality, and
with so many experts from all over the world!”

Les Grandes Tendances

1. Everybody talks about digitization –
but few companies have a profound
digital strategy in place.
2. In the digital age, customer
experience has to be a key focus of
corporate strategy.
3. Customer experience has to be team
play – but cross-functional
collaboration is insufficient in most
companies.
4. Digital channels are key to customer
interaction – but many companies still
need to improve their ability to use
them.
5. There is a strong need for customer
data integration in Europe –
companies have to remove their data
silos!
6. Germany lagging behind France and

can cause a lot of problems for marketers and others if you don’t have these platforms secure.”
Jason Vazzano, Vector Form – présentant le Energy Bridge
• “HOW DOES MARKETING EXIST WITH IOT ? We think of marketing as things we create (…) but

Data here, data there… data everywhere ?

E-Commerce is big business in China. JD.com, the country's largest business-to-consumer site, has more than 600 million users and 373 million people who shop straight from the site. Those numbers are nothing to sniff at considering that Jack Ma's powerhouse Alibaba reported that it had 350 million active shoppers in March.

Instagram made its pitch for more global marketing budgets today, building on last week’s announcement that its ad business is opening up to all advertisers by the end of the month with new 30-second video ads.
Amy Cole, head of brand development for Instagram EMEA, made the case for brands to buy ads on the platform with data from 400 Nielsen studies covering two years of campaigns. Per Instagram, 97 percent of ads have generated "significant" ad recall, with the average campaign boosting recall by 17 points.
"The [results] have shown us two important things: We can create community value and advertising value by focusing on high quality and authenticity, and that we have the ability to move the metrics that drive your business," Cole said.

Keynote & Fireside Chat - Unlocking the future: becoming a fast moving enterprise
Béatrice Guillaume-Grabisch, CEO Nestle
“As you know Nestle has quite a successful business model and it’s mission is and will always remain ‘good food, good life’. But at Nestle, we know we have to face steady change and actually our key question is why and how to act fast and with the right responsibility. So the first prerequisite is actually to leave the silos behind and to enable the organisation to make the change happen. And for this we have created at Nestle a cross-functional digital network organisation. To make sure that we can embrace the pace and to make sure that we can bring it throughout the whole organisation and this is steered by a digital board that is reporting to me in order to make sure that all of our decisions are really turned into actions. (This cross-functional community) are not only driving the change but they are making sure that this is deployed across the organisation and in all the functions because for us at Nestle, digital transformation is not only marketing or sales. It goes much beyond. It is a 360° approach and it is a really holistic journey.”

Like most brands, MasterCard is going through a massive transformation towards digital. During a keynote panel, global CMO Raja Rajammar outlined the company's new approach to marketing, which includes a program called Priceless Surprises that rewards cardholders with unexpected events. During the Grammys last year, fans who tweeted a hashtag got a link to download a Justin Timberlake song for free. Since then, MasterCard has rolled out 250,000 surprises in 15 months for its cardholders.

“Smart products. Smarter processes. Smartest experience.”

“We’re a data company using technology and science to help stakeholders in the mobile app economy make better decisions with their products, customers, and investments.
We’re based in Berlin, and got our start bootstrapping custom-mined data reports to the world’s leading management consultancies and investors. Our team and product have since evolved, but we’ve maintained a core focus on providing strategic, contextualized, actionable data which goes beyond a pure statistic.
We’re also firm believers in transparency. We’re proud to be the first app store analytics product which offers a like-for-like data exchange for partnering app publishers.
We’re named PRIORI DATA in reference to the statistical meaning of a priori, which in Bayesian statistics denotes general knowledge about a data distribution before making an inference.”
